Mountain Athos - Cruise

The only place in Greece, dedicated to the prayers and worship of God!

In Athos, is forbidden to enter women. This ban has been in force since at least 1060.

However, through the cruise women can also admire this unique sight!

Stagira – Ouranoupoli

Driving south, at about 25 kilometers from Nea Vrasna, we meet the Ancient Stagira.

There we will take a short stance to see the castle of the ancient city, where the great philosopher Aristotle was born.

We continue south towards Ouranoupoli, where our cruise begins, to take us around the Mount Athos peninsula.

Cruise

During the 3-hour cruise you will see the south-western part of the peninsula of Athos and almost half of the 20 monasteries that exist today.

The monastic state of Mount Athos is located in the third and eastern peninsula of Halkidiki. It is a self-governing part of the Greek Orthodox Church and the monuments of the Byzantine period enjoy a worldwide reputation.
